Our Mission

At Random Shitty Ideas, we believe that innovation often comes from unexpected places—including terrible ideas. Our mission is to celebrate the creative process by bringing to life one absurd concept each month, turning it into a functional (albeit questionable) product.

We're a team of engineers, designers, and creators who found ourselves repeatedly saying "that's a terrible idea... but what if we actually built it?" Eventually, we decided to formalize that process and share it with the world.

Meet The Team

RM

Ashutosh Upadhyay

Founder and Chief Idea Officer

Responsible for selecting which terrible ideas are worth building, Ashutosh has a knack for finding the sweet spot between "so bad it's good" and "just plain bad."

AU

Ashutosh Upadhyay

Engineering Lead

Ashutosh turns ridiculous concepts into functioning prototypes with a combination of technical wizardry and excessive caffeine consumption.

NS

Ashutosh Upadhyay

Design Director

Ashutosh's design philosophy is "just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean it can't look good." He brings visual polish to our absurd creations.

Our Journey

January 2025

Random Shitty Ideas was conceived during a late-night brainstorming session that went horribly wrong (or right).

February 2025

Our first prototype launched to unprecedented indifference from the public.

April 2025

We opened up idea submissions to the public, unleashing a torrent of questionable concepts.

Today

We continue our mission to build terrible ideas, one month at a time.

Our Values

Embrace Absurdity

We believe that sometimes the worst ideas can lead to the most interesting outcomes.

Build Real Things

Talk is cheap. We commit to actually building our bad ideas, not just talking about them.

Have Fun

If we're not having fun along the way, what's the point of building silly things?

Learn From Failure

Every terrible idea teaches us something valuable, even if it's what not to do next time.
